The trailer of Vikram shows a gang war over some stolen drugs. Vijay Sethupathi appears as a drug kingpin, while Fahadh Faasil appears as a policeman harassing drug dealers. And it is not clear what role Kamal plays in this story.
There will be no requests for daily “updates” like we saw for Valimai on social media, but Kamal Haasan’s upcoming record is not far behind in terms of audience expectations. And there are many reasons for this. Apart from the obvious reason for starring in Kamal, the young and spirited director Lokesh Kanagaraj is another star to work with. The cast also includes powerhouse actors like Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi. The plot has only moved on since the renaming of another Kamal film Vikram, which hit the big screen in the summer of 1986.

Just weeks after its theatrical release, the hype created by Vikram 2.0 is evident. Looking at all the excitement, I couldn’t go back 36 years to when Vikram 1.0 was released.
